India’s semiconductor ambitions just got a major boost. At Semicon India 2025, Gujarat-based startup IndieSemiC unveiled the country’s first fully indigenous IoT Evolution Board, powered by the VEGA ET1031 processor—a homegrown chip developed by C-DAC and based on the open-source RISC-V architecture.

This launch marks a pivotal moment in India’s journey toward technological self-reliance, combining compute, connectivity, and intelligence in a single, locally designed platform.
Founded in 2023, IndieSemiC has already made waves in automotive electronics, drone systems, and RF design, with over 60 clients and 10+ certified modules. The IoT Evolution Board signals their shift from component-level innovation to full-stack hardware platforms.
Jinal Shah, Co-Founder & CMO, added, “This is just the beginning. We’re laying the foundation for India’s own vertically integrated semiconductor ecosystem.”
The newly launched ARIES IoT v2.0 board is engineered for versatility and low-power performance. Here’s what it packs:
- VEGA ET1031 processor (THEJAS32 SoC, RISC-V ISA)
- 100 MHz clock speed, 256 KB SRAM, 2 MB flash
- Bluetooth 4.2, LoRa, and WiFi (NINA-W102 module)
- Rich I/O: GPIO, PWM, SPI, UART, I2C
- Built-in sensors: motion, environmental, proximity, light, and gesture
This board is tailor-made for applications in smart cities, wearables, industrial automation, sensor fusion, and secure metering.
IndieSemiC plans to expand into AI-on-edge, advanced RISC-V processors, and custom silicon solutions—all designed and built in India.y solution that reduces design complexity while boosting performance and reliability.y leaders.
