Nuvoton Introduces 4th-Gen Gerda HMI Display ICs for Safer, Smarter Automotive UX

Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan (NTCJ) has launched its latest 4th-generation Gerda HMI display ICs, enhancing automotive safety, visibility, and user experience. These ICs power electronic mirrors, digital instrument clusters, and AR-HUDs, offering improved contrast, resolution, and graphical depth.

Key models include:

  • Gerda-4M: Optimized for electronic mirrors, improving visibility in low-light and glare conditions.
  • Gerda-4L: Features a compression engine for high-resolution displays at reduced system costs.
  • Gerda-4C: Supports 2.5D graphics, creating depth and shading effects in digital instrument clusters.

Built with ASIL-B functional safety compliance, the Gerda ICs include real-time monitoring, signal validation, and fail-safe features. Additionally, their Hardware Security Module (HSM) with EVITA-Full compliance enables secure boot and over-the-air updates to prevent cyber threats.

Supporting CAN-FD, Ethernet, MIPI CSI2, DRGB, and LVDS, these ICs seamlessly integrate with HUDs, HVAC panels, and electronic mirrors.
